Waiting for baby...

So apparently this baby is due next thursday. Well, saturday according to my dates. As it happens, both of these are pretty inconvenient since Phil has booked gigs and meetings for the whole of next week and his best friend's wedding reception (they got married abroad) is on the saturday night. So, this time I'm actually hoping for an overdue baby! Well, actually I wanted Chloe to be overdue too as my final A level exam was on the day she was due, but she listened to my requests and came the following day so all was well :-)
I feel like we're semi-prepared - all the clothes and nappies are washed and ready, but we haven't got any of the big things from the loft in case we have viewings on our house (no, still not sold) so it still feels a bit unreal. I just can't wait to meet this teeny person who is coming to join our family! I've been suspecting girl all the way through but am now leaning towards boy... Chloe says definitely boy, Finn says he's sure it's a monkey. Phil has been in denial about the whole thing but trying out the birth pool last weekend made it seem a bit more real I think - the children were very pleased with the pool too!
So I'm ignoring all the little pains I've been getting on and off for a week - baby is posterior so I know it's going to take ages and my body is trying to persuade it to turn... but I do feel a huge surge of excitement each time anything twinges, just knowing I'm going to be able to meet my baby soon!

My beautiful boy is all bashed up

What a horrendous week. I haven't blogged for so long, things have been so crazy, but generally good and just preparing for baby. However, this weekend has been awful, culminating in this perfect, gorgeous, happy little boy being so desperate to tell daddy something exciting that he tripped on the stupid brick steps (in the garden we've wanted to move house from for six months) and knocking two of his perfect little teeth out. Both of us were covered in blood, the whole thing was so traumatic I couldn't sleep thinking about it, and his little face looks so sore. Luckily we had masses of high dose Arnica in preparation for the birth, which he's responded really well to. We have a handy dentist in the family, who has managed to salvage the front tooth, although she says it'll go black and stay that way. My poor, poor broken little baby boy.
