It was lovely :) Despite the rain, which meant the house was a little crowded, everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.
At midnight on friday, having spent all day doing the mammoth clean (of the house, we don't actually have a mammoth) - blogging really motivated me with that! - I suddenly realised that I hadn't done all the special things I'd planned as I'd got so obsessed with skirt making and cleaning. So I rushed out on saturday morning and bought two gorgeous spiral bound books, one for Finn and one for Chloe, as her naming day was so rushed that we didn't do anything really meaningful. I found a gorgeous poem for each of them and copied them into the front, then asked everyone to write messages, hopes and wishes for the future etc. I'm so glad we did it, it made the day for me and will be a lovely thing for them to look back at. I hope we can keep them going through the years and add to them as the children grow.

The sun shone for a while, the food was great - scones went down really well and all the salads and quiches people brought were delicious. I forgot to put out the pasta salad so will be eating that for a week, and step-MIL dropped her lovely apple tart on the floor, via her dress, as she arrived and was really upset for most of the day (as was my brother, who would have happily eaten it off the floor...lol) but apart from that, it was brilliant. Finn's beautiful cake, made by my sister, was a bit hit and he loved the sparkler!

It was lovely, time just ran away and everyone stayed for hours longer than they'd intended! It was a really special day and I feel so lucky to have such a lovely family who are all so supportive and wonderful. It is lovely to be just us again today though - back in my hermit shell where I'm happiest of all :)
Our little gymnast, who spends more time upside down than upright at the moment:

And a very tired little boy, wide-eyed and giggly after a crazy day!
