We planted our potatoes and spinach outside, in containers in case we move at some point soon - and also because our soil is a nightmare. We've also started off tomatoes, basil and butternut squashes inside so hopefully we'll manage to grow some decent veg this year. It's all covered up in this hideous old patched-up rabbit run because last years attempts were destroyed initially by cats thinking we'd helpfully laid out some nice new soil for them to mess all over.
We picked our only crop of rhubarb this year - tiny but beautiful and a nice surprise as I thought I'd finally ruined the poor crowns last year.
A happy dancing girly:
Phil worked on the patio, which we've had to live with wonky for a couple of years, but now we're trying to sell it has occurred to him that people might prefer it straight!
And here's a small boy, tired after hours of playing with a pot, a spade and a very flooded sandpit, having a little tantrum on the table...
And now it's time for tea, earth hour games and stories without electricity, and then early bed for the little ones and a very well earned takeaway and evening of games for the grown-ups. It's been a long three months without much let-up, and I feel like we're turning a corner now that the spring appears to be here at last. Onwards and upwards...
