I've never really 'got' Halloween before - doorbells going mad, children eating sweets etc etc etc. Today I got it. It's one more celebration we can choose to embrace, or not, to make life a little bit sweeter - quite literally, in some cases! So, with an excited little boy, I made spider cakes:
And with a couple of stylish costumes from the charity shop, I had two little helpers who delightedly opened the door and gave out treats. I also had a very glamourous witch, but all those photos have her friends in, too, so I can't post them here.Yes, I don't like dressing up outfits for babies, and yes, I don't like sweets. But today, we had fun and laughter and excitement - and that was worth it for me!
